Alexa ranking is another ranking of the websites that I value. In the Google Page Rank was the only dominating scale to judge the quality of the website but recently Google made some changes in the algorithm of the page rank? And therefore I decided to judge the website according to the alexa only.

The Alexa ranking was measured by using its toolbar. If your browser does not have alexa toolbar, then you will not be count as a visitor of a website even if you are visiting a particular website. Even if it is not a fair means to count the number of visitors of a website, it was useful enough and could judge the quality of the website through that.

But recently the algorithm of alexa has also been changed. Now the alexa ranking no longer depends on the toolbar but it depends on some other new criteria or new algorithm of alexa. But we do not install any tracking code or plug-in of alexa in our website, then how can they track the number of visitors of our website.

If alexa can include the visitors which do not have alexa toolbar in their browser, then it would be a better modification. But if alexa ranking follows the same algorithm as Google does, then it will hurt its reputation. Now I am just wondering if alexa is still a rating for traffic or something else. Most of the reputed websites witness the decrease in the alexa ranking in the last few days.
